Meet the Team Behind Westfall Energy

Connor Sharp, J.D., MLS

PROJECT MANAGER

As co-founder of Westfall Energy, Connor Sharp began working in the oil and gas industry as a landman while obtaining a Master of Legal Studies degree in Oil, Gas, and Energy from the University of Oklahoma College of Law in 2018. Connor worked in the field for two years developing mineral title examination skills and gaining land acquisition experience in Oklahoma. In 2019, Connor moved to Denver, Colorado, and switched to an in-house landman role.

Connor Sharp

Connor began managing his own projects, researching mineral ownership and negotiating oil and gas leases in a large-scale lease acquisition and multi-well drilling project. Connor has performed due diligence and HBP (held-by-production) title work including: Surface, Mineral, and Leasehold ownership. Over time, he has obtained considerable experience drafting, reviewing, and negotiating various oil and gas instruments and agreements in North Dakota, Texas, Colorado, Wyoming, Nebraska, Kansas, and Oklahoma.

In 2021, Connor attended the University of Oklahoma College of Law to obtain a Juris Doctorate, receiving several scholarships and

graduating in 2024. While at law school, Connor trained to be a title attorney, drafting Joint Operating Agreements, Purchase and Sale Agreements, Financing Agreements, Farmout Agreements, and preparing Drilling Title Opinions and Division Order Title Opinions.

Connor also assisted in researching and preparing cases in Oil and Gas Law, Commercial Real Estate, Residential Property, and other legal fields.

Connor uses his knowledge and experience in land acquisition, chaining title, and land development to co-manage an independent land brokerage across the entire U.S., assisting commercial operators and landowners with legal and land services for both renewable energy and traditional oil and gas projects.

Thomas Showman, J.D.

LAND MANAGER

Thomas Showman, our managing member, began practicing as an attorney in 2009 upon receiving his Juris Doctorate from the University of Oklahoma College of Law. Throughout the fifteen years of his career, Thomas has gained extensive expertise as a title attorney in the energy field. During that time, Thomas has assisted companies of all sizes: from the smallest start-up, to multinational corporations engaged in international trade. Thomas' practice has involved transactional work, including contract negotiating and drafting, company formation, debt resolution and work-outs, and litigation work involving some of the largest companies in the industry. Thomas has also established an impressive background in title examination and title opinion preparation and drafting, including review of surface, mineral, and leasehold ownership, including leases held-by-production.

Thomas Showman, J.D.

Thomas' work in the industry has carries him to several states in the country, and many of the biggest oil and gas plays and fields in development, including the Eagleford, the Marcellus Shale, the Barnett Shale, and the Permian and Anadarko Basins.

In addition to his work in the energy field, Thomas has also worked closely for and with sovereign Native American nations and tribes, including servicing in the offices of attorney general and corporate counsel for many tribes. Thomas' experience in the industry has been recognized by the Federal government when he was appointed to the role of Public Defender for the Miami Agency of the Bureau of Indian Affairs, a role he continues to serve in today.

In 2024, Thomas decided to bring his outstanding work ethic and comprehensive background together to improve the energy industry by promoting the growth of renewable energy in conjunction with traditional oil and gas projects.
